The American Staffordshire Terrier,
as the American Pitt Bull Terrier, is placed in the Mastiff
group of most Kennel Clubs in the USA. The AmStaff is know
as a working dog and is famous for their strength and their
ability to pull tremendous weight. Their body, stocky - like
a body builder - weight can range anywhere from 37 to 90 pounds.
Now, we all know the bad rap that AmStaffs have received over the years - a
lot of people feel that they are evil, ferocious dogs -- not true!! AmStaffs,
as well as Pitts are fearless, loyal and willing to please. They are very people-friendly,
which it is wise not to pen up your AmStaff outside for people to see; because
of their good nature and their people-friendly ways they are often stolen.
Why do the majority of the people think that they are mean - because they hear
about the 'dog fights'. These beautiful dogs are taught to be that way. They
are starved into submission and do what they have to do to survive.
I was introduced to my first AmStaff in 2003, when my Misha - whom had been
with me for 15 years - crossed over. Carter's Face (named for the last name
of his breeder and the look on his face) is from Michigan, he now weighs some
70 pounds, runs like the wind and was the best thing that could have come into
my life at that time.

Then, after a long search - we
found Rosie (who's legal name is Bost's E - but Rosie sounds
much better) She is a true Southern Belle and is the four legged
love for Face - you know - so he could 'sew his wild oats'.
No problem there!
